A brachioplasty (arm lift) removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms to create a smoother, more toned arm contour — particularly beneficial after significant weight loss or due to age-related skin laxity.
Improvement in arm contour is visible immediately. Swelling and bruising settle over 2–4 weeks. The scar along the inner arm fades significantly over 12–18 months. Final contour is apparent by 3–6 months.

Upper arms (inner aspect)
A one-time procedure with long-lasting results
Brachioplasty is performed under general anaesthetic. An incision is placed along the inner aspect of the upper arm, from the armpit towards the elbow — its length depends on the amount of excess skin. Through this incision, excess skin and fat are removed and the remaining tissue is tightened and reshaped. Liposuction may be used in combination to optimise the contour. The incision is closed with sutures and a compression garment is applied. Dr Williams carefully plans incision placement to balance effective contouring with scar concealment.
Risks include bleeding, infection, poor wound healing, abnormal scarring, asymmetry, seroma, contour irregularity, and temporary numbness. Scars are visible along the inner arm — Dr Williams places them as discreetly as possible. All risks are discussed during consultation.
