A facelift (rhytidectomy) is an advanced surgical procedure that lifts and rejuvenates the face by repositioning deeper facial structures, addressing sagging skin, deep wrinkles, and volume loss for natural, long-lasting results.
Patients can expect a refreshed, more youthful appearance with improved facial definition and lifted cheeks. Initial swelling subsides within a few weeks, with final results settling by 3–6 months.

A one-time procedure; results typically last 10–15 years. Can be repeated in the future.
Dr Williams specialises in the deep plane facelift technique, which targets the deeper layers of facial muscles and connective tissue (the SMAS layer) rather than simply pulling the skin. Strategic incisions are placed in front of and behind the ear and into the hairline. The SMAS and skin are lifted together from the underlying structures, redraped in a more youthful — often more vertical — direction, resutured into their new position, and excess skin is excised and closed without tension. This produces results that look natural rather than “pulled” or “tight.” Where neck laxity is also present, a deep plane neck lift is performed simultaneously through the same and a small additional submental incision.
As with any surgery, risks include bleeding (rarely requiring drainage), infection, nerve injury (usually temporary), haematoma, poor scarring, asymmetry, and adverse reaction to anaesthetic. These are rare with an experienced surgeon and will be discussed thoroughly during your consultation.
